Internal Sales Developer - Sea, Air & LogisticsCentral Essex Location, CM Postcode (on public transport routes and easily accessible)Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 (depending on experience)Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 (1-hour lunch)About the CompanyOur client is a growing logistics company providing tailored solutions across sea, air, road and warehousing.They pride themselves on excellent customer service, strong client relationships and a friendly, supportive office culture.Based in modern serviced offices in a central Essex location, they are now looking to add an Internal Sales Developer to their team as the business continues to grow.The RoleThis is an office-based internal sales role in logistics, with the potential to develop into a mix of internal and external sales for the right person.You will work very closely with the Head of Sales, building your own portfolio of clients and helping to drive the continued growth of the office.You will focus primarily on sea freight (import and export), with exposure to air, road and warehousing solutions.Key Responsibilities- Make outbound calls and follow up on enquiries to win and develop new business.- Build, develop and manage your own portfolio of sea, air and logistics clients.- Promote the company's services (sea, air, road and warehousing), matching the right solution to each customer's needs.- Nurture relationships with existing customers to maximise retention and growth.- Prepare and follow up quotations, negotiate rates and secure bookings.- Work closely with operations colleagues to ensure a smooth handover and excellent customer service.- Maintain accurate records in the CRM, including pipeline, activities and results.- Stay informed about market trends and competitor activity.What We Are Looking For- Someone at the early stage of their logistics sales career, ideally with around 3-4 years' logistics sales experience.- Strong exposure to seafreight (import and export) is preferred; experience in air, road and warehousing is a strong advantage.- Confident, outgoing and not afraid of the phone - happy making outbound calls, following up and converting business.- A genuine interest in building a long-term career in logistics sales, not just chasing the highest salary.- Motivated, proactive and keen to "grab an opportunity and shine" as the office grows.- Good numerical, literacy and communication skills.- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and CRM systems.- Able to work well in a small, supportive team environment.- Within a realistic commuting distance of this central Essex location.Rewards & Benefits- Salary: circa £32,000 - £34,000, depending on age and experience, with scope to grow as you progress.- Genuine opportunity to develop from a purely internal sales role into a blended internal / external role in time, for the right person.- Health cash plan (for optical, dental, physio and more) after successful completion of the probation period.- 20 days' holiday + bank holidays, with an extra day per year after your first full year of service, up to a maximum of 25 days.- Company pension via auto-enrolment (conditions apply).Benefits: Health cash plan (after probation), 20 days' holiday + bank holidays, rising to 25, company pension.Please note: this is an office-based role with no on-site parking.How to ApplyIf you have logistics sales experience and like the sound of an office-based internal role in a central Essex location with real scope to grow, we'd love to hear from you.Please apply with your CV via Red Recruit Global Ltd, quoting "Internal Sales Developer - Sea, Air & Logistics"
