Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester
Location: Greenhithe, near Bluewater, Kent
Salary: £35,000 to £50,000 basic, depending on experience and qualifications
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, plus Saturdays, 8am to 5pm
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Paramount Garage Bluewater Ltd is looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join its busy independent garage.
This is a varied, hands-on role working across cars, vans and motorcycles. It would suit a confident technician who can diagnose faults, complete repairs and work independently to a high standard.
Already MOT qualified? Excellent. Candidates qualified to test some MOT classes will be considered, so you do not need to hold Classes 1 to 7.
Not yet MOT qualified? Paramount may fund the relevant MOT course for an experienced vehicle or motorcycle technician with at least four years of proven servicing and repair experience. A two-year training agreement will apply.

What you’ll be doing
- Servicing and repairing a wide range of vehicles
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Completing general mechanical repairs
- Carrying out MOT tests where qualified
- Preparing vehicles for MOT testing
- Identifying and repairing MOT failures
- Maintaining accurate workshop records
- Working safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard
What we’re looking for
You will need:
- Strong, recent vehicle servicing and repair experience
- Confident fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- The ability to complete repairs independently
- A reliable and professional approach
- A full UK driving licence
A current MOT Tester qualification would be a strong advantage, but applicants qualified for only some MOT classes will still be considered.
Experience servicing and repairing motorcycles would also be highly desirable.
Experienced mechanics who are not yet MOT qualified are encouraged to apply, provided they have at least four years of proven vehicle or motorcycle servicing and repair experience.
