As Team Manager, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding practice, providing leadership, oversight, and high‑quality decision‑making in a fast‑paced, multi‑agency environment. Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do

• Provide inspirational leadership to Social Workers and practitioners within the MASH.
• Oversee screening, triage, and allocation of safeguarding referrals concerning children and families.
• Ensure compliance with statutory duties, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
• Lead robust safeguarding decisions, ensuring timely responses to risk.
• Collaborate closely with partner agencies such as health, police, and education to support effective information sharing.
• Provide professional supervision, guidance, coaching, and performance management for staff.
• Monitor caseloads, KPIs, and service standards, ensuring best practice delivery.
• Chair complex safeguarding discussions and strategy meetings, offering expert insights.
• Promote early help, prevention, and strength‑based approaches across the service.

Requirements / Candidate Criteria

Essential

• Qualified Social Worker with recognised Social Work degree or equivalent.
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Significant experience in children’s safeguarding, including MASH or front‑door services.
• Strong understanding of statutory frameworks and multi‑agency safeguarding procedures.
• Demonstrable leadership and team‑management skills.
• Excellent communication, decision‑making, and risk‑assessment abilities.

Desirable

• Experience within a similar role in a local authority setting.
• Background in service development or performance improvement.
• Strong partnership‑building skills across multi‑agency settings.
