Role Overview
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a skilled and experienced Team Manager to lead the Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) within North Tyneside Council’s Children’s Services. Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do
- Provide inspirational leadership to Social Workers and practitioners within the MASH.
- Oversee screening, triage, and allocation of safeguarding referrals concerning children and families.
- Ensure compliance with statutory duties, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
- Lead robust safeguarding decisions, ensuring timely responses to risk.
- Collaborate closely with partner agencies such as health, police, and education to support effective information sharing.
- Provide professional supervision, guidance, coaching, and performance management for staff.
- Monitor caseloads, KPIs, and service standards, ensuring best practice delivery.
- Chair complex safeguarding discussions and strategy meetings, offering expert insights.
- Promote early help, prevention, and strength‑based approaches across the service.
Requirements / Candidate Criteria
Essential
- Qualified Social Worker with recognised Social Work degree or equivalent.
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in children’s safeguarding, including MASH or front‑door services.
- Strong understanding of statutory frameworks and multi‑agency safeguarding procedures.
- Demonstrable leadership and team‑management skills.
- Excellent communication, decision‑making, and risk‑assessment abilities.
Desirable
- Experience within a similar role in a local authority setting.
- Background in service development or performance improvement.
- Strong partnership‑building skills across multi‑agency settings.
