Support Worker

Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, PE7 8US
Salary: £14.00 per hour, equivalent to £28,028 per annum based on 38.5 hours per week
Contract: Full time, permanent
Hours: 38.5 hours per week
Shifts: 12 hour shifts, 9.00am to 9.00pm and 9.00pm to 9.00am
Working pattern: Rolling two week rota, including alternate weekends

Are you an experienced Support Worker looking for a rewarding role where you can help someone live with greater independence, choice and confidence?

Transforming Support is looking for Support Workers to join its supported living service in Peterborough, providing consistent, person centred support to an adult with complex needs in their own home.

You will build a trusted relationship, support everyday living and help the person achieve what matters to them. From developing daily living skills to enjoying personal interests and activities in the community, your patience, encouragement and reliability can make a lasting difference.

These are full time, permanent positions, and we welcome applications from both men and women.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing respectful, person centred support within the individual’s own home.
  • Helping them develop daily living skills and build confidence and independence.
  • Supporting informed choices about their routines, lifestyle and future.
  • Helping them manage their tenancy, household responsibilities and finances where required.
  • Supporting health needs, appointments and medication in line with agreed procedures.
  • Encouraging community involvement, relationships, personal interests, education and employment.
  • Contributing to support plans, assessments, reviews and positive risk management.
  • Maintaining clear, accurate and objective records.
  • Following safeguarding, confidentiality and health and safety procedures.
  • Working closely with colleagues and professional teams to provide consistent support.

About you

You will need at least six months’ previous experience in a care or support setting and a commitment to helping another person live a fulfilling and independent life.

We are looking for people who:

  • Communicate clearly with the person supported, colleagues and other professionals.
  • Are patient, dependable and able to remain calm when needs or circumstances change.
  • Understand the importance of safeguarding, equality and confidentiality.
  • Work positively as part of a team.
  • Maintain accurate written records and follow agreed support plans.
  • Can work the required rolling shift pattern, including alternate weekends.

You must already have the right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for these roles.
