Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join the Learning Disability Adult Social Care Team in Wandsworth.

This ongoing locum position offers a competitive hourly rate of £32.00 and flexible part-time or full-time working options. You will be working within a well-established, supportive multi-disciplinary service delivering high-quality, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities across Richmond and Wandsworth.

You will be joining a service made up of Service Managers, Assistant Service Managers, Senior Social Workers, Social Workers, and Social Care Assessors, all committed to delivering excellent outcomes for residents.

What You Will Do

• Undertake assessments of individual and carer needs and risks, promoting independence and safeguarding adults at risk.

• Work collaboratively with service users and carers using a person-centred, strengths-based approach to maximise wellbeing, independence, and choice.

• Apply core social work principles and values, ensuring practice is ethical, inclusive, and professional.

• Maintain high standards of service provision in line with statutory duties and local authority expectations.

• Make sound professional judgements, including in complex or crisis situations.

• Work in partnership with health, housing, and other professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic support plans.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records in line with statutory and organisational requirements.

Requirements

Essential

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.

• Registered with Social Work England.

• Experience working within Adult Social Care and/or Learning Disability services.

• Good working knowledge of:

  • Care Act 2014

  • Mental Capacity Act 2005

  • Safeguarding Adults procedures

• Ability to work confidently in complex, fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments.
