What you will do

• Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of Personal Advisors providing support to care leavers aged 16 to 25.
• Supervision and Support: Deliver regular supervision, performance management, and professional support to team members.
• Care Planning: Oversee the development, implementation, and review of Pathway Plans to ensure young people receive effective and person-centred support.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor service delivery, ensuring high standards of practice and compliance with statutory responsibilities.
• Service Improvement: Identify opportunities for service development and implement strategies to enhance outcomes for care leavers.
• Partnership Working: Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, education providers, housing services, health professionals, and community organisations.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor team performance against key service targets and statutory requirements.
• Safeguarding: Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are effectively managed and that young people's welfare remains central to all decision-making.
• Problem Solving: Support staff with complex cases and provide guidance on risk management, planning, and interventions.
• Reporting: Prepare reports, performance information, and management updates as required.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Social Work Qualification: Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Registration: Current Social Work England registration.
• Management Experience: Previous experience managing or supervising staff within Children's Social Care services.
• Leaving Care Knowledge: Strong understanding of legislation, guidance, and best practice relating to care leavers and corporate parenting responsibilities.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to motivate, develop, and support teams to achieve positive outcomes.
• Safeguarding Expertise: Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and statutory responsibilities relating to children and young people.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and report-writing abilities.
• Partnership Working: Experience working effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Organisational Skills: Ability to manage competing priorities and support operational service delivery within a busy environment.
