What you will do
- Support service users from initial assessment through their treatment and recovery journey, ensuring individual needs are identified and addressed.
- Conduct screening, risk assessments, recovery planning, and regular reviews in line with organisational and contractual requirements.
- Deliver harm reduction interventions aimed at reducing drug and alcohol-related risks to individuals and the wider community.
- Facilitate structured one-to-one and group-based recovery programmes, workshops, and educational sessions.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Substance Misuse, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant training in substance misuse, safeguarding, motivational interviewing, or mental health interventions.
- Evidence of continued professional development.
Registration & Compliance
- Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Equality Act 2010, and safeguarding legislation.
- Understanding of information governance, confidentiality, GDPR, and risk management principles.
- DBS on the update service.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in substance misuse (drugs & alcohol).
- Strong caseload management and keyworking skills.
- Good understanding of harm reduction and recovery models.
