Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 18:30

Pay Rate: PAYE £37.50 per hour | Umbrella £47.50 per hour

Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Team Manager to join a Children’s Social Care Duty Service in Southampton. This is a fast-paced safeguarding management role focused on crisis intervention, placement stability, and supporting frontline Social Workers within a duty and safeguarding environment.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Social Worker Team Manager with strong leadership skills and a background in Children’s Social Care, safeguarding, crisis management, and statutory duty services.

Job Purpose
To provide operational leadership and day-to-day management within a Children’s Social Care Duty Team, overseeing crisis situations, placement instability, safeguarding concerns, and duty operations. The Team Manager will supervise Social Workers, support safeguarding decision-making, and ensure effective responses to high-risk situations involving children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of a Children’s Social Care duty pod
  • Directly supervise and support 2 Social Workers within the duty service
  • Support additional Team Managers with crisis management and safeguarding activity
  • Manage and oversee strategy meetings, missing episodes, and safeguarding responses
  • Ensure timely and effective decision-making in relation to children at risk
  • Provide operational oversight of duty rotas and workflow management
  • Support placement stability and crisis intervention planning
  • Offer hands-on support during complex or high-risk situations involving children and families
  • Promote best practice within safeguarding and statutory Social Work services
  • Ensure accurate case recording and compliance with statutory procedures
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency safeguarding partners

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience as a Team Manager within Children’s Social Care
  • Strong safeguarding and statutory Social Work background
  • Experience within duty, crisis intervention, or safeguarding services
  • Ability to manage complex safeguarding situations and placement instability
  • Experience chairing strategy meetings and managing high-risk cases
  • Strong leadership, supervision, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office-based environment
  • Excellent communication and multi-agency partnership skills
