What you will do:

- Provide a high-quality service in line with statutory requirements and departmental priorities
- Engage in regular training and development opportunities
- Participate actively in supervision and team meetings
- Join the emergency duty rota as required by your role
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using both traditional and new technology
- Respond appropriately to queries from the public and other agencies
- Liaise with external agencies like the police and health authorities
- Collaborate with colleagues in other divisions and council departments
- Lead on individual client case planning, ensuring adherence to professional standards
- Champion equal opportunities in professional practice and service delivery
- Make informed professional decisions within procedural guidelines and consult where necessary
- Contribute to service development and departmental policy familiarisation

Requirements:

Candidates must be Social Work England registered, possess a degree in Social Work, and have at least two years of post-qualifying experience in childcare, including legal proceedings, section 47 investigations, and direct work with children. A commitment to equal opportunities policies is essential, as is the ability to maintain coherent, comprehensive records. Competency in managing risk and need assessments, as well as a strong grasp of legislative, policy, and practice issues, is required. Candidates should be capable of working independently, managing complex workloads, and demonstrating a solid understanding of local organisational contexts.
