What you will do

  • Manage care proceedings and progress cases confidently through the Public Law Outline and court process.
  • Complete high-quality, evidence-based assessments, including parenting assessments, risk assessments, and viability assessments.
  • Engage in permanency planning, including care planning, adoption processes, Placement Orders, Care Orders, and long-term permanence options.
  • Work effectively with children and families, ensuring that all recommendations are child-focused, evidence-based, and in the child's best interests.
  • Meet court deadlines, produce high-quality statements and care plans, and collaborate with Legal Services, Children’s Guardians, and partner agencies.
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of relevant legislation, case law, and statutory guidance relating to children in care and court proceedings.
  • Use management supervision effectively, understand professional accountability, and take ownership of progressing cases within the required timescales.

Successful candidates will have substantial experience in the following areas:

  • Navigating care proceedings and effectively handling cases through the Public Law Outline and court process.
  • Conducting comprehensive, evidence-based assessments.
  • Understanding the intricacies of permanency planning and ensuring child-focused outcomes.
