Seven Resourcing is recruiting for a qualified Social Worker to join Children’s Services in Newport on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Children’s Social Worker, Safeguarding Social Worker, or Assessment Social Worker to support a busy statutory service providing sickness cover.

The role involves delivering a high-quality social work service across assessment, care planning, and case management for children and young people. You will work in line with current legislation, statutory guidance, and local authority policies, ensuring safe, effective, and outcome-focused practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people within Children’s Services
  • Undertake assessments, care planning, and ongoing case management
  • Respond to referrals allocated by the Team Manager or Senior Practitioner
  • Deliver statutory social work interventions in line with legislation and policy
  • Support and safeguard children, young people, and their families
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed case recordings and reports
  • Engage and empower children, families, carers, and support networks
  • Progress cases in a structured and effective manner, working towards managing complex caseloads
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and local authority standards
  • Contribute to reviews, meetings, and statutory processes as required

Requirements:

  • Social Work qualification (Degree or equivalent)
  • Social Work England / Social Care Wales registration (as applicable)
  • Experience within Children’s Social Care (essential)
  • Strong safeguarding and assessment experience
  • Experience managing statutory caseloads
  • Good understanding of relevant legislation and guidance
  • Strong communication, report writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment
