Position: Social Worker – Children with Disabilities Team

Working Hours: Core hours 09:00–17:00 (flexible start and finish times available)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities Team in Newham, based at the modern Newham Dockside offices. What you will do:

Arrange and coordinate respite provision for children and families

Undertake home visits to assess needs, promote safeguarding, and support child welfare

Complete comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of children with disabilities and their families

Advocate for children and families to ensure access to appropriate services and resources

Develop, implement, and review care and support plans in partnership with multi-agency professionals

Work closely with occupational therapists and other specialists to deliver holistic care

Arrange and manage direct payments in line with local authority procedures

Undertake risk assessments to promote safe and supportive environments

Participate in looked after children reviews where applicable

Complete parenting assessments to support family functioning

Organise and attend core group meetings to coordinate multi-agency interventions

Manage Section 47 enquiries in line with statutory guidance

Undertake educational needs assessments to support children’s development and learning
