What you will do:
- Work directly with children with disabilities and their families to assess needs and develop tailored care plans that address their unique situations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support and interventions are in place for children and young people.
- Manage a caseload effectively, ensuring timely interventions and reviews are conducted as per statutory guidelines.
- Prepare detailed reports and present evidence in court proceedings, especially related to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) and the Mental Capacity Act (MCA).
- Advocate for the children and families you work with, ensuring their voices are heard and respected within the system.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Hold a degree or equivalent in social work with a current Social Work England registration.
- Demonstrated significant frontline experience in Social Services within the UK, particularly as a qualified Social Worker focusing on children with disabilities.
- Strong experience in managing complex cases and navigating the legal aspects related to child protection, including court proceedings.
