Seven Resourcing is recruiting an experienced Substance Misuse Nurse (Non-Medical Prescriber) to work in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified prescribing nurse to support individuals affected by substance misuse, providing specialist clinical care, medication management, and recovery-focused interventions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering evidence-based treatment, supporting service users throughout their recovery journey, and working collaboratively with a wider multidisciplinary team to improve health and wellbeing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete comprehensive assessments for individuals experiencing substance misuse issues.
- Provide specialist nursing interventions and support tailored to service user needs.
- Act as a Non-Medical Prescriber, managing and reviewing prescribed medication safely and effectively.
- Support opioid and alcohol dependency treatment pathways, including prescribing and medication reviews where required.
- Monitor service users’ progress and provide ongoing clinical advice and support.
- Work collaboratively with recovery workers, healthcare professionals, and partner agencies.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional standards and confidentiality requirements.
- Promote harm reduction approaches and support individuals to achieve positive recovery outcomes.
Applicant Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RMN/RGN) with current NMC registration.
- Qualified Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP).
- Experience working within substance misuse services or a related healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of drug and alcohol treatment pathways.
- Knowledge of harm reduction, recovery models, and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
