Seven Resourcing is recruiting an experienced Substance Misuse Nurse (Non-Medical Prescriber) to work across East London. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified prescribing nurse to provide specialist clinical support to individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse, delivering safe, effective, and recovery-focused treatment.

The successful candidate will support service users through their recovery journey by providing clinical assessments, medication management, and evidence-based interventions while working closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out comprehensive assessments for individuals accessing substance misuse treatment services.
  • Provide specialist nursing interventions and ongoing clinical support.
  • Act as a Non-Medical Prescriber, initiating, reviewing, and managing medication safely in line with clinical guidance.
  • Support the delivery of drug and alcohol treatment programmes, including opioid substitution treatment where required.
  • Monitor service users’ progress and adjust treatment plans appropriately.
  • Promote harm reduction strategies and support individuals to achieve sustainable recovery goals.
  • Work collaboratively with recovery workers, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure all documentation meets professional standards.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RMN/RGN) with active NMC registration.
  • Qualified Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP).
  • Previous experience working within substance misuse, addiction services, or a similar healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of drug and alcohol treatment pathways and recovery-focused practice.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, and harm reduction approaches.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
