Social Worker – Children & Families (Child in Need)
Location: South & West Devon (Hybrid Working)
Contract: Temporary (May 2026 – August 2026)
Hours: Full-Time – 37 Hours per Week
Pay Rate: £29.76 per hour (PAYE) or £38 per hour (Umbrella)
Seven Resourcing is recruiting for an experienced Social Worker – Children & Families to join a well-supported local authority team focusing exclusively on Child in Need cases.
This is a standout opportunity for social workers who want to focus on relationship-based, preventative practice, without the pressures of court work, Child Protection plans, or care proceedings.
You will work with children and families under Child in Need plans, allowing you to deliver meaningful, outcome-focused interventions that promote long-term stability and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a dedicated Child in Need caseload, delivering high-quality, relationship-based social work
- Develop and implement outcome-focused care plans following assessment
- Work closely with children, young people, and families to promote safety and positive change
- Build strong multi-agency partnerships with internal and external services
- Contribute to restorative, strengths-based practice across the team
- Support smooth, child-centred transitions where case circumstances change
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements

Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration
- Experience working within Children & Families services
- Strong understanding of Child in Need planning and assessment
- Ability to build effective relationships with children and families
- Confident working in a multi-agency environment
- Commitment to high-quality, child-centred practice
