What you will do:

• Chair Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, ensuring they remain child-centred, inclusive, and compliant with statutory guidance.

• Independently oversee Looked After Children (LAC) Reviews and other statutory review meetings, ensuring robust scrutiny and accountability.

• Promote the active involvement of children, young people, parents, carers, and families in decision-making processes.

• Monitor and evaluate Child Protection Plans and Care Plans to ensure they remain focused on achieving positive outcomes for children.

• Provide independent oversight and constructive challenge where safeguarding concerns, drift, or delays in planning are identified.

• Ensure statutory timescales for conferences, reviews, and associated documentation are consistently achieved.

• Facilitate effective multi-agency collaboration between social care, education, health services, police, and other partner organisations.

• Escalate concerns where safeguarding arrangements are ineffective and ensure agencies fulfil their statutory responsibilities.

• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with local and national requirements.

• Contribute to audits, quality assurance activities, and service evaluations to drive continuous improvement.

• Support learning from Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews and promote best practice across Children's Services.
