What you will do:

- Manage a caseload of highly complex child protection and safeguarding cases.
- Take the lead on child protection investigations, assessments, and care planning under relevant legislation to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
- Provide professional supervision, mentoring, and practice guidance to social workers and newly qualified staff, nurturing their growth and development.
- Chair or contribute to strategy discussions, core group meetings, and multi-agency safeguarding meetings, fostering collaborative approaches.
- Ensure assessments, reports, and case recordings are accurate, evidence-based, and completed within statutory timescales to maintain high standards.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies including health, education, police, and the judiciary to safeguard children and ensure cohesive and comprehensive support.
- Support quality assurance, audits, and service improvement initiatives, playing a key role in enhancing service delivery.
- Promote child-centred practice, ensuring the voice and wishes of children are reflected in assessments and planning.
- Manage risk effectively and make informed decisions to protect children from significant harm, using your knowledge and experience to safeguard their futures.
- Maintain compliance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and professional standards, ensuring best practice in all endeavours.
