What you will do
- Undertake complex post-adoption assessments in alignment with the Adoption and Children Act 2002 and Adoption Support Services Regulations.
- Manage a specialist caseload that includes adoption support plans, family relationship challenges, therapeutic interventions, and placement stability issues.
- Lead the charge on complex decision-making, risk assessment, and safeguarding matters concerning adopted children and young people.
- Provide crucial consultation, guidance, and case oversight to Social Workers and Adoption Support Practitioners within the service.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive post-adoption assessments to support positive outcomes for children and families.
- Oversee and manage cases involving intricate family dynamics and provide necessary interventions for stability and support.
- Demonstrate leadership in risk assessments and safeguarding to ensure the well-being of children and young people post-adoption.
- Offer support and mentorship to fellow practitioners and social workers, enhancing the service through shared knowledge and expertise.
Person Specification
- A degree or equivalent professional qualification in Social Work, along with evidence of continuous professional development in adoption services.
- Registration with Social Work England is essential, alongside significant post-qualification experience within children's services.
- Experience in adoption support, permanence, fostering, or looked-after children services is vital, with a proven track record managing complex family support and safeguarding cases.
