What you will do:

  • Manage a complex caseload of children and young people with disabilities, ensuring comprehensive assessments, meticulous care planning, and diligent reviews and statutory interventions are conducted.
  • Lead and contribute to pivotal work areas including Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, and Care Proceedings.
  • Provide professional guidance, mentoring and case consultation to social workers, newly qualified practitioners, and support staff.
  • Assist the Team Manager in practice oversight, engaging in supervision activities, aiding decision-making, and ensuring quality assurance processes are upheld.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • A recognised degree in Social Work such as BA, MA or equivalent qualification, with successful completion of Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) or equivalent post-qualification development.
  • A Practice Educator Award or willingness to undertake training is desirable.

Registration & Compliance:

  • Current registration with Social Work England is essential.

Experience:

  • Significant post-qualifying experience within children's social care is required, with demonstrable experience of working with children with disabilities and their families.
