What you will do:
- Manage a complex caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Children in Need Plans, Public Law Outline processes, and care proceedings.
- Undertake statutory assessments, risk analyses, and care planning in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance.
- Lead child protection enquiries, strategy discussions, and multi-agency safeguarding meetings.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for Child Protection Conferences, Looked After Child Reviews, court proceedings, and permanence planning forums.
- Provide professional supervision, coaching, and practice support to less experienced social workers and newly qualified practitioners.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work, BA (Hons) Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Practice Educator Award or relevant post-qualifying training desirable.
Registration & Compliance:
- Registered with Social Work England (SWE).
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Sound knowledge of relevant acts and guidelines including the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations, Human Rights Act 1998, and Equality Act 2010.
