Senior Electrical Designer in Manchester, Lancashire
UK working eligibility only.
Take the lead on complex electrical design projects within a highly regulated environment while contributing to the delivery of critical infrastructure programmes.
Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Electrical Designer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Manchester.
Role Purpose:
- Produce safe, practical and cost-effective electrical design solutions to a high professional standard.
- Deliver high-quality electrical design documentation in accordance with project and company requirements.
- Support multidisciplinary project teams throughout the design lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, standards and industry best practices.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of complex engineering projects within a regulated environment.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, practical and economical designs for clients in compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
- Produce drawing office deliverables including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Cable Schedules, Material Take-Offs (MTOs), Block Cable Diagrams (BCDs), Schematics, Equipment Layouts and Cable Routing Layouts.
- Check and review drawings in accordance with company procedures.
- Liaise with other engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated design development.
- Develop and maintain 3D models using software such as Navisworks, AVEVA E3D and Revit.
- Support the delivery of electrical design packages from concept through to issue for construction.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant technical, safety and regulatory requirements.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
Essential:
- ONC, OND, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Ability to hold or obtain Security Clearance.
- Good knowledge of design working practices and installation requirements within relevant engineering sectors.
- More than 10 years' engineering experience in relevant or similar industries.
- Proficient in CAD software and engineering drawing production.
- Experience with 3D modelling tools such as Navisworks, AVEVA E3D or Revit.
- Knowledge of LV electrical design principles and practices.
- Strong understanding of UK legislation, standards and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working within highly regulated engineering environments.
Desirable:
- Experience delivering electrical design solutions on major infrastructure or industrial projects.
- Knowledge of design coordination within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Familiarity with regulated sector requirements and industry best practice standards.
