What you will do:
- Deliver an efficient and effective Council Tax and NNDR service for the Council.
- Maintain and apply up-to-date knowledge of legislation relating to local revenues and taxation matters.
- Develop service specifications, business plans, operational work programmes, and measurable outcomes.
- Monitor Service Level Agreements to ensure quality and value for money.
- Oversee the accurate annual billing process for Council Tax, NNDR, and Business Improvement Districts.
- Ensure revenue systems are utilised effectively across all relevant teams.
- Lead, support, and develop the Revenue Team, including staff training and development programmes.
- Promote effective debt management and recovery procedures.
- Produce detailed management reports relating to outstanding debt and income collection performance.
- Manage budgets in line with financial regulations and procedures.
- Prepare and present committee reports and deputise for the Revenues and Benefits Service Manager when required.
- Build effective relationships with council departments, external agencies, and stakeholders to support seamless service delivery.
Requirements:
- Strong experience within Revenues, Council Tax, and NNDR services.
- In-depth knowledge of local government revenue legislation and procedures.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Experience managing teams, budgets, and operational performance.
