What you will do:

  • Provide advanced respiratory physiotherapy interventions, focusing on optimising respiratory function and promoting person-centred care.
  • Ensure interventions meet the highest standards of safety and adhere to HCPC and CSP guidelines.
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, informing and enhancing care delivery.
  • Serve as the respiratory clinical lead, offering leadership and guidance to the wider team.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
  • Play a key role in staff development, delivering training and support to colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC requirements and national safety standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, provide advanced tracheostomy care, and optimise ventilator settings.
  • Develop personalised respiratory care plans and coordinate with nursing, medical, and care teams.
  • Educate residents and families about respiratory conditions and care plans.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and lead audits and service development.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrable experience managing tracheostomies and ventilation, with strong decision-making skills in complex cases.
  • Competence in respiratory management, including manual techniques and emergency response.
  • Capability to assess breath sounds, secretion load, and ventilator dependency.
  • Excellent communication skills with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Registration as a Physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • A BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Physiotherapist, with exposure to tracheostomy and ventilation support.
