Project Planner in Newcastle, Tyne And Wear

Shape the success of major infrastructure projects with your planning expertise.

Our Client has a requirement for a Project Planner, who will be required to work on a Contract or Permanent basis in Derby or Newcastle.

Role Purpose:

• Support project delivery as part of a growing infrastructure portfolio
• Act as the local planning lead, working closely with Project Managers and PMO teams
• Provide planning support across multiple projects from inception through delivery
• Coordinate project schedules, resources and stakeholder reporting activities

Job Role Responsibilities:

• Produce and manage project schedules for internal and external stakeholders
• Coordinate work packages, track progress against schedules and support resource planning
• Coordinate and manage subcontractor planning activities
• Review and approve subcontractor programmes
• Interface with stakeholders to identify and report on progress, changes, risks and opportunities
• Support proposal development through manhour estimating and planning input
• Produce concise and accurate project reporting, including critical path analysis and key project metrics

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

• Primavera P6 proficiency to intermediate level (essential)
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Microsoft Project
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear and concise project updates
• Ability to engage confidently with subcontractors and critically review submissions
• Excellent attention to detail
• Degree preferred or equivalent qualification
• Primavera P6 training
• Project Management qualification (e.g. APM) beneficial
• Experience as a Project Planner on NEC4 Contracts is essential, particularly Option A and Option C
• Experience on major infrastructure design and build projects is highly desirable
• Experience within the Nuclear or Defence sectors is highly desirable
