Civil Inspector in Teesside, Orkney

Play a Key Role in Maintaining Quality Excellence on a Major Energy Infrastructure Project.

Our Client has a requirement for a Civil Inspector, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Teesside.

Role Purpose:

• Assist the project team in ensuring inspection duties are carried out to a high standard and provide support where required.
• Monitor and verify hold, witness, and inspection activities in contractor inspection and test plans.
• Ensure all installed works are completed in accordance with approved quality plans, inspection and test plans, specifications, and applicable international codes and standards.
• Support compliance with project quality requirements throughout all phases of delivery.

Job Role Responsibilities:

• Monitor and review material test certificates in line with project specifications.
• Monitor and review compliance with project Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Ensure project preservation requirements are followed.
• Ensure material traceability requirements are maintained.
• Witness activities in accordance with agreed ITP requirements and project standards, including occasional off-site visits where required.
• Ensure manufacturing record books are completed, reviewed, endorsed, and stored in the agreed location.
• Provide feedback to support supplier performance evaluations.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

• Technical/Quality Management qualification (HNC or equivalent) or demonstrable relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in quality and/or inspection roles within oil & gas, petrochemical, infrastructure, or related industries.
• Proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience reviewing final manufacturing data books and inspection records.
• Membership of CQI would be advantageous.
• Experience working with Right First Time (R1T) processes is desirable.
• Experience with Self-Verification and Oversight (SV&O) responsibilities is desirable.
• Experience with quality auditing techniques and tools, including ISO 19011, is desirable.
