About the role:
You will oversee and deliver the transition of landlords and tenants from existing Council run financial incentive packages into new arrangements ensuring improved financial resilience and a positive landlord and tenant experience. You will work closely with landlords to communicate the details of new financial incentive packages, including the potential consequences of not transitioning, using a sensitive and considered approach that reflects landlords’ varying experiences and supports homelessness prevention. Alongside this, you will liaise with tenants to keep them informed of the Council’s actions, provide support with any issues they may experience, and guide them through the transition process. This may include supporting tenants where a move to alternative accommodation becomes necessary. By the end of the placement, you will have established an agreed transition plan with any remaining landlords and tenants yet to complete the process. This plan will be capable of being handed over to existing Housing Solutions resources to take forward.

What you will do:
- Lead engagement with landlords during the phased closure of the Guaranteed Rent Scheme.
- Explain the new Rental Support Scheme to landlords, addressing concerns and highlighting benefits.
- Negotiate between landlords and tenants to preserve tenancies through rent levels, terms, and conditions.
- Monitor tenancy risks, proactively preventing eviction and maintaining housing stability.
- Provide targeted support for tenants, including budgeting and income maximisation advice.
- Maintain accurate records and support landlord compliance with regulations.
- Secure alternative accommodation if necessary, managing all move-on and resettlement activities.
- Produce performance and progress updates, ensuring all processes comply with audit and data protection standards.

Qualifications and education:
- GCSEs (Minimum A-C, English and Maths) or equivalent.

Experience:
- Experience in the private rented sector, housing advice, or tenancy management.
- Experience negotiating with diverse stakeholders where interests may conflict.
- Experience managing challenging conversations and handling sensitive situations.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Confident negotiator able to influence stakeholders with differing perspectives.
- Ability to work flexibly and independently under pressure.
