What you will do

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients within the prison setting.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in line with professional standards and best practice.
• Support patients with physical health, mental health, and substance misuse needs as appropriate to your role.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated healthcare services.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and documentation.
• Promote health, wellbeing, recovery, and rehabilitation within the prison population.
• Undertake clinical assessments and respond appropriately to healthcare needs.
• Support continuity of care through effective communication with internal and external healthcare providers.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.

• Primary Care: For RGNs with physical health prison experience.

  • Shift options include:
    • Long Days: 07:15 - 20:45
    • Main Shifts: 07:15 - 17:45

• Mental Health: For RMNs with prison mental health experience.

  • Shift options include:
    • 07:00 - 16:30
    • 07:00 - 17:00

• Substance Misuse: For RGNs or RMNs with relevant substance misuse experience.

  • Shift pattern:
    • 07:00 - 16:30

Requirements

• NMC Registration: Current registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
• Prison Clearance: Current prison clearance is essential.
• Relevant Experience: Experience within Primary Care, Mental Health, or Substance Misuse services.
• Clinical Skills: Strong assessment, care planning, and risk management abilities.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary working skills.
• Record Keeping: Ability to maintain accurate and professional clinical documentation.
