What you will do:

• Ensure thorough assessment and safe preparation of the Operating Suite prior to surgery.
• Participate in developing and implementing special protocols.
• Ensure safe disposal of clinical waste and adherence to GHA and Departmental Policies.
• Maintain high standards within the Operating Department and support the audit programme.
• Engage in clinical supervision and performance review.
• Partake in departmental standby rota and preparation of splints and plaster.
• Assist in the movement of patients and participate as a member of the resuscitation team.
• Scrub in for surgical procedures and perform safety checks.
• Support in the positioning and preparation of patients for surgery.
• Assist anaesthetists and surgeons with blood transfusions and vascular procedures.
• Conduct equipment checks and participate in clinical trials.
• Prepare and supervise the use of anaesthetic agents according to safe procedures.
• Report accidents, complaints, and equipment issues as needed.
• Assist in the orientation of new staff and in-service training.
• Prepare, clean, and organise operating theatres.
• Attend departmental meetings and comply with policies and procedures.
• Take responsibility for professional actions and follow instructions from managers as necessary.
