What you will do

  • Assessment: Carry out comprehensive assessments for adults with disabilities to identify equipment and adaptation needs.
  • Adaptation Planning: Recommend and coordinate housing adaptations to support independent living.
  • Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with housing authorities, contractors, and partner organisations.
  • Client Support: Provide clear advice and guidance to individuals and families throughout the adaptation process.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments and interventions.
  • Best Practice: Stay informed on legislation, policy, and best practice within occupational therapy and housing services.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • HCPC Registration: Must be a registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience: Previous experience within social services, housing adaptations, or community OT is desirable.
  • Clinical Skills: Strong assessment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for working with clients and partners.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of relevant legislation and adaptation processes.
