What you will do:
- Conduct assessments and develop customised treatment plans aimed at enhancing the independence and functional abilities of children.
- Work collaboratively with multi-professional teams within the designated speciality to provide comprehensive care.
- Deliver therapy sessions in a school setting, focusing on sensory integration and sensory-informed practice when applicable.
- Engage with children who are neurodivergent, have learning difficulties, or experience socio-emotional and mental health challenges.
- Maintain clear and concise report writing to document progress and therapy outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and caregivers to provide education and support.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (BSc Hons).
- Valid and up-to-date HCPC Registration.
- Registered member of the RCOT.
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in a school setting or SEN provision.
- Relevant occupational therapy experience in a similar environment is preferable.
- Proven experience with neurodivergent individuals or those with learning difficulties or mental health challenges.
- Strong understanding of occupational therapy theories and their practical application.
- Experience working within a multi-professional team in the designated speciality is preferred.
- Ability to independently manage caseload and adapt to a school environment confidently.
