What you will do
- Plan Assessment: Evaluate Full Plans, Building Notice, and Regularisation applications for compliance with Building Regulations.
- Site Inspections: Conduct detailed inspections to ensure construction work meets statutory standards.
- Project Oversight: Manage complex and high-risk developments from a regulatory perspective.
- Fire Safety: Undertake fire safety assessments and produce detailed technical reports.
- Enforcement: Investigate dangerous structures and lead enforcement actions where required.
- Advisory Role: Provide expert guidance to developers, architects, contractors, and the public.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records and prepare high-quality technical reports and inspection notes.
- Quality Assurance: Contribute to service improvement initiatives and uphold high professional standards.
- Mentorship: Support and mentor junior Building Control staff, sharing expertise and best practice.
- Leadership Support: Deputise for senior management when required, ensuring continuity of service delivery.
- Representation: Represent the council at meetings, hearings, and official engagements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to Building Safety Regulator requirements and national standards.
