Job Title: Locum Occupational Therapist - Moving and Handling Specialism

We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Occupational Therapist with a specialism in Moving and Handling to join our dynamic Adult Social Care team in Bristol. This locum position is full-time, offering the flexibility of hybrid working—37 hours per week—so you can balance your professional and personal commitments. Embrace the best of both worlds, with approximately 2 days a week in our vibrant office from 28 September 2026 and the rest spent working flexibly across home and the community.

What you will do:
- Conduct comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments to identify functional needs and suggest appropriate interventions.
- Perform moving and handling assessments and risk evaluations to ensure the safety and efficacy of care arrangements.
- Recommend and prescribe specialist equipment, such as hoists and stand aids, to support service users.
- Apply and adhere to relevant legislation and guidelines, including the Care Act 2014 and Health and Safety at Work legislation.
- Collaborate with service users, carers, and professionals to ensure compliance with LOLER and PUWER regulations for safe equipment use.
Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Substantial experience within Adult Social Care, particularly in moving and handling assessments.
- A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Act, MHOR, LOLER, and PUWER.
- Recent UK experience working as an Occupational Therapist is advantageous.
