What you will do:
- Meet productivity standards set by the department for direct patient contact and other related non-patient contact duties.
- Perform thorough assessments on all inpatients and/or outpatients following referral, using objective clinical measures to identify problems and formulate treatment plans based on realistic goals. Implement specific therapeutic interventions using a client-centred approach.
- Supervise and delegate specific written treatment plans to aides, assistants, and student practitioners, ensuring high-quality care.
- Observe and evaluate treatment effects, communicating patient progress or any lack thereof to appropriate staff and physicians.
- Maintain patient documentation using the appropriate paperwork, ensuring adherence to current standards and policies, and prepare specific clinical reports as requested.
- Keep accurate and timely statistics of both direct and indirect time spent, preparing specific clinical reports as needed.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with the necessary certification in your jurisdiction of training.
- 1–2 years of post-graduate experience in an Occupational Therapy setting, preferably within a hospital.
- Local registration to practice with the Council for Allied Health Professions (CAHP) and compliance with all re-registration requirements.
- Experience working within psychiatric settings and with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility and creativity to accommodate the diverse needs of patients, caregivers, and the rehabilitation team.
- Ability to diplomatically delegate and supervise assistants, aides, and students.
