What you will do:
- Improve consistency in child protection practices across the county to ensure equal experiences for families.
- Work collaboratively with partners to enhance multi-agency child protection decision-making and planning.
- Build strong, consistent relationships with families to foster confidence in the child protection process.
- Collaborate with practice supervisors and share complex decision-making.
- Provide social workers with opportunities to strengthen their child protection knowledge and encourage professional growth beyond supervisory relationships.
- Embed yourself in local duties to enhance the flow between Multi-Agency Child Protection Teams (MACPT) and Family Help Teams, prioritising professional relationship building.
- Facilitate and lead strategy discussions/meetings and facilitate multi-agency decisions on Section 47 investigations.
- Oversee investigations to ensure timely delivery of information for family meetings.
- Engage with families to enhance their child protection conference experience.
- Encourage and support children and young people in attending and understanding child protection conferences.
- Ensure children and families are offered independent advocacy for meetings.
- Chair child protection conferences, maintaining a focused agenda to improve protection plans.
- Work with Minute Support Assistants to deliver clear conference records and protection plans swiftly post-meeting.
- Engage in quality assurance activities such as audits to promote learning and identify practice improvements.
- Develop group learning activities based on quality assurance findings with practice advisers and supervisors.
- Ensure effective short-term break reviews for Children with Disabilities are conducted.
- Conduct supervision order reviews at designated intervals post-orders.
- Offer reflective case discussions and engagement for professionals developing child protection plans.
- Lead innovative approaches to meetings addressing harm outside the home.
- Assist in reforming paperwork and processes for improved transparency and information sharing.
