Our Client has a requirement for an IT Consultant, who will be required to work on a 3‑month contract basis in Manchester.
Role Purpose:
- Provide critical IT support to business users to ensure systems and teams remain operational.
- Deliver desktop hardware configuration, upgrades, imaging, and PC deployment.
- Support software installations and standard desktop package configuration.
- Resolve ServiceDesk requests and incidents using a ticketing management system.
- Liaise with third‑party maintenance engineers as required.
- Support emergency duties that may fall outside standard working hours.
- Travel to additional office locations when necessary.
- Participate in individual project work, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for end users.
- Monitor systems and respond to ServiceDesk incidents in a timely and professional manner.
- Install, configure, and update desktop applications and operating environments.
- Conduct hardware maintenance, upgrades, and device imaging.
- Coordinate with external engineers to manage repairs or specialised support needs.
- Support the wider technical function by contributing to process improvements and development initiatives.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
Essential:
- Proven experience in an IT support position with both remote and in‑person customer support.
- Strong understanding of the Windows environment and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A+ Certification.
- Ability to travel as part of the role.
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
- Experience using ServiceNow or similar ticketing management systems.
