Quantity Surveyor – Rail / Civils

Barrow-in-Furness (Office-Based)

12-Month Contract (Likely Extension)

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client, supporting the commercial delivery of rail infrastructure projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work across construction and civil engineering projects, taking full responsibility for commercial management from tender stage through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage projects commercially from tender through to final account
• Prepare and price tender estimates (small and large projects)
• Maintain and manage costing systems and reporting
• Liaise and negotiate with clients on variations and contractual matters
• Conduct site visits to measure works and assess new tenders
• Review project documentation, identifying risks and requirements
• Prepare monthly payment applications and resolve discrepancies
• Work closely with internal teams and client-side QS professionals

 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, civils, or infrastructure
• Experience working on rail projects (e.g. Network Rail environments)
• Strong background in estimating, tendering, and programme management
• Solid knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and commercial priorities
