What you will do:

Chair statutory Looked After Child reviews, ensuring meetings are child-centred and compliant with the Children Act 1989 and IRO Handbook
Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of care plans, ensuring timely progression towards permanence and improved outcomes
Provide independent oversight and challenge to social work practice, escalating concerns regarding drift, delay, or safeguarding risks
Ensure children and young people’s wishes and feelings are fully captured, advocated for, and reflected in care planning

Person Specification:

Qualifications include a degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work
Post-qualifying training in childcare, safeguarding, or leadership being desirable
Registered with Social Work England
Strong working knowledge of the Children Act 1989 / 2004
Strong working knowledge of Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations 2010
Strong working knowledge of the IRO Handbook and statutory guidance
