We are on the lookout for an Independent Reviewing Officer to join our Children’s Services team for a 3-month locum position, offering a competitive rate of £315.16 per day. This full-time role encompasses 36 hours per week and you'll be based at 160 Tooley Street, London, SE1 2QH, with a hybrid working model that provides flexibility and work-life balance. As an IRO, you'll play a vital role in championing the well-being of children and young people in our community.

What you will do

• Chair in-person reviews for children and young people to ensure that each child's voice is heard and needs are met.
• Develop detailed, effective, and responsive plans through informed assessments, ensuring safety and risk factors are properly identified.
• Manage reviews effectively, ensuring inclusive participation from children, family members, and relevant professionals.
• Make appropriate decisions and formulate outcome-based plans that maximise family cooperation and utilise available support services.
• Produce compelling, high-quality written reports from reviews to serve as accessible communication for families and partner agencies.
• Monitor ongoing care processes and engage constructively with social work teams to prevent drift and delay.
• Engage in audit activities to improve service quality as needed.
