What you will do

• Lead and coordinate Mental Health Act assessments efficiently and safely in various settings including community environments and hospitals.
• Autonomously make decisions under the Mental Health Act, utilizing your in-depth knowledge of mental health law and regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments ensuring all actions prioritize the safety of all involved parties.
• Engage with patients and their nearest relatives to ensure a clear understanding of rights under the Act.
• Organize safe transport and coordinate necessary arrangements when applications are made or alternatives are required.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and social care teams to deliver optimal outcomes for patients.
• Prepare Social Circumstance Reports and provide professional evidence in tribunals when required.
• Provide advice and supervision to trainee AMHPs, assisting them in their professional journey.
