About You
To be considered for this role, you will:
- Hold HLTA status or have significant experience working at HLTA level
- Hold a 2:1 degree or above (or be predicted to achieve this)
- Have strong classroom experience within a school
- Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
- Have a good understanding of the National Curriculum
- Be confident adapting learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be proactive, organised, and adaptable in your approach
- Have a genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential
- Have the right to work in the UK
The Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will work closely with class teachers, senior leaders, and support staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences and help pupils reach their full academic, social, and emotional potential. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering planned lessons across the curriculum during teacher release time and staff absence
- Supporting teaching and learning across a range of year groups
- Leading small-group interventions in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas
- Providing tailored 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs
- Supporting children with SEND and helping to remove barriers to learning
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing constructive feedback to teaching staff
- Promoting positive behaviour and creating an engaging classroom environment
- Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and assessment activities
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external professionals
