Graduate Teaching Assistant – The Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and school leaders to support pupils both inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing one-to-one and small group academic support
• Supporting students with varying learning needs and abilities
• Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and independence
• Supporting behaviour management and student engagement
• Preparing learning resources and classroom materials
• Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment

Opportunities are available across both primary and secondary settings depending on your interests, experience, and career goals.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree from a recognised university (all subjects considered)
• Strong interest in teaching, education, psychology, or youth development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive, proactive, and professional attitude
• Previous experience working with children, young people, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring is advantageous but not essential
• Ability to commute to Bromley daily
