The Role

You will be expected to:

• Deliver engaging and effective A Level Geography lessons to Year 12 and Year 13 students.
• Plan and prepare high-quality schemes of work and lesson resources.
• Use a range of teaching strategies to ensure all learners are actively engaged.
• Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Implement targeted interventions to support student achievement.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with college policies.
• Support learners with additional needs through differentiated teaching.
• Contribute to curriculum development and course planning.
• Participate in student recruitment activities, open days, and enrolment events.
• Maintain accurate student records using college systems.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to enhance learning outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a committed and reflective practitioner who is passionate about post-16 education.

• Degree in Geography or a related subject.
• PGCE or recognised teaching qualification (or working towards).
• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of A Level Geography.
• Ability to plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons.
• Experience or confidence working with 16–18-year-old learners.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Organised, proactive, and adaptable approach to teaching.
• Confident using technology to support learning.
• A team player with a commitment to continuous professional development.
• Passionate about supporting student progress and achievement.
