A welcoming and inclusive school in Sandwell is seeking a dedicated Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who is passionate about education and supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role offers invaluable classroom experience and the chance to develop skills working alongside experienced teachers and SEND professionals.
The Role
- Support students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students access learning and achieve their individual targets.
- Work closely with teachers, SENDCOs and pastoral staff to deliver tailored support.
- Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, engagement and independence.
- Support both academic progress and social-emotional development.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds a 2:1 or higher degree in Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies or a related subject.
- Has a genuine interest in supporting children and young people with SEND.
- Demonstrates patience, resilience and excellent communication skills.
- Can build positive and professional relationships with students and staff.
- Is considering a future career in education, educational psychology, counselling, therapy or SEND support.
