KPI Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded and inclusive secondary school in Surrey to recruit an experienced Second in Charge of English to join their English department on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious English teacher with strong classroom experience and proven leadership skills to take the next step in their career and play a key role in the continued development of the department.

The Role

As Second in Charge of English, you will work closely with the Head of English to:

• Support the leadership and development of the English department.
• Drive high standards of teaching, learning and student progress.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and development.
• Support, mentor and develop colleagues.
• Promote high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
• Deliver consistently excellent English lessons across KS3 and KS4.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an English teacher who:

• Holds QTS and has excellent subject knowledge.
• Has significant experience teaching English within a secondary school.
• Has previous leadership or departmental responsibility.
• Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations.
• Can inspire students and colleagues.
• Is passionate about improving outcomes and making a genuine difference.

This is a permanent position with an ASAP start. Due to the immediate nature of the vacancy, applicants must hold a valid DBS and be available to start promptly.
