What you will do:
- Coordinate Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments and annual reviews in accordance with statutory timelines and the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
- Draft, amend, and maintain high-quality EHCPs, ensuring outcomes and provisions are clearly specified and measurable.
- Liaise effectively with parents/carers, educational settings, health practitioners, and social care teams to gather quality professional advice, ensuring an integrated approach to planning.
- Monitor and track caseloads diligently to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and the timely delivery of decisions.
- Actively attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including panel decisions and annual review meetings, supporting a collaborative approach to SEND services.
Person Specification
Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience in education, social care, or a related field.
- Relevant training in SEND or inclusion is desirable for this role.
Registration & Compliance:
- Strong working knowledge of SEND legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
- Understanding of safeguarding frameworks and responsibilities within a local authority setting.
- Awareness of the Equality Act 2010 and standards for inclusive practice.
Experience:
- Proven experience working within a SEND, education, or local authority environment is essential.
- Experience handling caseloads within statutory frameworks.
- Familiarity with multi-agency working and service coordination for children and young people with additional needs.
