The Role
As a Cover Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences while ensuring students remain engaged and make progress.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of subject areas
- Maintaining excellent classroom management and behaviour standards
- Creating a positive and productive learning environment
- Building strong relationships with students and colleagues
- Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons
- Supporting wider school initiatives and contributing to school life
- Upholding the school's high expectations for achievement and conduct
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience within UK secondary schools
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to confidently deliver lessons across multiple subjects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach
- Passion for supporting young people and raising achievement
- Must be able to reliably commute to Chertsey on a daily basis
