A well-regarded and ambitious secondary school in Wembley is seeking a motivated and academically strong Unqualified Computer Science Teacher to join its dedicated team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate in Computer Science or a related discipline to gain valuable classroom experience while preparing for a future career in teaching.

The Role

As an Unqualified Computer Science Teacher, you will play an important role within a supportive and high-performing school environment. Working closely with experienced teachers, you will gradually develop your teaching practice while supporting student progress across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging, pre-planned Computer Science lessons.
  • Supporting students in coding, computational thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leading small-group interventions to improve attainment.
  • Assisting with lesson planning, marking, and assessment.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Encouraging confidence, resilience, and independent learning.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to achieve strong academic outcomes.

This role provides a structured pathway into teaching, offering excellent training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an ambitious graduate who:

  • Holds a 2:1 degree or above in Computer Science or a related subject.
  • Has strong subject knowledge, including programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is proactive, professional, and resilient.
  • Is committed to a long-term career in teaching.
  • Can build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Has experience working with young people (desirable but not essential).
