About the Company
Communications Community Manager We are working confidentially with an ambitious and distinctive cultural destination in the heart of Central London to appoint a Communications Community Manager. Operating at the intersection of culture, performance, cinema, live music and nightlife, this is an organisation built around experience and community. As the business enters its next stage of growth, it is looking for someone to take ownership of how it communicates with its audience and wider community.
About the Role
This is not a traditional marketing role. Instead, it is an opportunity for an exceptional communicator and natural community-builder to become a central voice within the organisation – shaping how it speaks, how it engages and how it builds lasting relationships with the people around it.
The Communications Community Manager will take ownership of communications across a large and growing audience, ensuring every interaction feels considered, consistent and unmistakably connected to the organisation's identity. You will oversee communications with both existing members and new audiences, helping to develop the relationship between the organisation and its community as it evolves. The role will span community communications, CRM and email, newsletters, PR, digital content, website updates and selected social media activity. Just as importantly, you will act as a genuine point of connection for the community. There is already significant direct engagement and inbound interest, so we are looking for someone who understands that great community management is a conversation rather than simply a communications calendar.
Responsibilities
- Own and develop the organisation's overall community communications approach
- Manage communications across a substantial and growing email database, including newsletters, announcements, invitations and community updates
- Develop clear communications for different audiences, membership levels and stages of the customer journey
- Protect and evolve a distinctive tone of voice across all channels
- Manage and respond to inbound community communications and direct enquiries
- Build genuine engagement with existing members while developing communications for new audiences
- Coordinate website content and ensure information remains current, relevant and engaging
- Support social media communications and content where appropriate
- Work closely with PR and other external or internal partners to ensure a consistent narrative
- Develop communications around events, cultural programming, partnerships and key moments for the organisation
- Use audience insight and engagement data to understand what resonates and continuously improve communications
- Become a trusted internal authority on how the organisation communicates with its community
Qualifications
You will be an experienced communications or community professional who understands how to build an audience around culture, experience and belonging
Required Skills
- You may currently be working within hospitality, nightlife, music, arts and culture, entertainment, membership, lifestyle or another experience-led brand
- You will combine strategic thinking with a willingness to be hands-on. This is a standalone role, so you should be equally comfortable developing a communications approach and writing the email, updating the website or responding directly to members of the community
- Strong communications, community or CRM experience
- Exceptional written communication skills and a highly developed understanding of tone of voice
- Experience managing sizeable customer or membership databases and email communications
- An instinctive understanding of culture and contemporary audiences
- Experience of newsletters, website content and digital communications
- An understanding of PR and social media, without necessarily being a pure PR or social specialist
