What you will do:

  • Deliver specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions for individuals with complex and enduring mental health difficulties.

  • Provide a range of evidence-based therapies, such as CBT and trauma-informed approaches, in line with NICE guidelines to enhance patient outcomes.

  • Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), contributing to care planning, risk management, and integrated service delivery.

  • Offer consultation, training, and psychological guidance to other professionals to foster psychologically informed practice across the team.

  • Supervise and support junior psychologists, trainees, and other staff, ensuring adherence to professional and organisational standards.

  • Engage in clinical governance, audit, service evaluation, and research to promote continuous improvement within the service.

  • Contribute to pathway development and participate in transformation initiatives within integrated mental health services.

Person Specification

  • Qualifications include: a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy or equivalent) accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), alongside evidence of continued professional development relevant to clinical practice.
  • Registration & Compliance requirements include: being registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist, with a solid understanding of NICE guidelines and NHS clinical governance frameworks. A thorough grasp of safeguarding, risk management, and relevant mental health legislation such as the Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act 2005 is also essential.
